Re: Is tt ok to run 18 lbs on a fairly stock head?? (BuiltTurboCoupe)
I have a stock GSR head with 80k miles, and my rev limit is set to 8500rpm's. Granted I don't rev that high everyday, but I do make max power at 8200.
The amount of boost you run won't weaken the head at all, but the stock porting will just become a limiting factor when you get into the 500+ range.

I would at a minimum replace the stock retainers with titanium. I had a stock retainer let go in my Type R head. It took my complete head and my 2.0 liter C5 block with it.
