Default Trying to make 300whp with greddy kit...need help

Right now its at 260 hp @ 11psi (spiking to 14) and I plan on making 300 hp with what I have. Anyone have ideas how I can get to my goal without turning up the psi cause I don't like the idea of spiking of excess above 15. I'm thinking that a edelbrock manifold and hondata gasket can net me up to 280? Suggestions anyone? And don't tell me to go bigger.

I probably cant....its the internal wastegate that's spiking.

I already have a 3 inch exhaust system with 3 inch high flow cat and 2 inch flared to 3 inch downpipe. I was thinking if I went straight 3 inch downpipe, I could gain 10 hp? I know if I get rid of my cat I can gain some hp, but I want to stay legal.

The only thing I can think of is Hondata or AEM with 450cc injectors and a 255lph intank pump.

With the thicker head gasket why not run more boost.. you should run 14-15psi all the time.. if you can't fix the spike get an external wastegate and weld it on.

Well you could get a tial flange and weld it to the manifold. Then mount the wastegate to that. It would eliminate the internal one. If you want and can do with out your car for a little while, you can send me the manifold, turbo, and discharge elbow and I will make the modifications for you. you will have to mount the wastegate discharge back into the exhaust. If you can weld just do it yourself. I have the flange that fits your turbine discharge that I sell for $20. this will alow you to make a complete downpipe in what ever size you chose.. The hole is 2.5" Pm me if I can help.. its easy to loose these threads on here.

do you have an ebc or mbc? an ebc may help with the spiking. get a valvetrain upgrade and crower stage 2 turbo cams, that's should give a good +15hp if you get the skunk2 IM

I know you don't want bigger, BUT can't you upgrade to the 20G as long as it fits to the manifold, Im sure it will be easier then going crazy to look for extra HP here and there.

Im not 100% sure but arent you pushing the limits of the eff. of the 18G (14 psi), not to mention the internal WG - hence boost spike? Don't flame me, but Id look into going bigger cause we all know, you'll say 300 is cool I think I want 315, 320 .....

just keep it simple dude. dont waste ur money on a whole lot of little crap to get 5hp here and there. just get a 20g and a better wastegate. simple, cost effective, and more power.

I've thought about a 20g turbo before, but the only place I've seen them sold is on http://www.turbochargers.com and they are priced at like $1000 which sounds way too much for a turbo. I would rather just get a gt ball bearing for just a little more.

Why don't you list all the mods that was done (e.g. fuel maanagement, standalone?, injector size, etc..), that way people can analyze and compare parts that is preventing you not to hit the 300whp goal of yours.

Have you considered sending the turbine housing to Extrude Hone? It adds about ~2-3% more efficiency. It is only about $75.00. It should help spool by 300-500 rpms as well.

I recall boostkillz making up to 350whp on his gsr with the same kit. Now I'm at 11 psi and I'm only putting out 260, and I doubt if I crank the boost to 15 I'd be hitting even remotely close to 350whp. But anyways my setup consists of:

Inlinepro headgasket
STR cam sprockets
VAFC
4:1 fmu
msd inline fuel pump
450cc dsm injectors
255lph intank pump
3-inch exhaust system

I use the fmu to supply enough fuel and tune it out with the vafc. Please don't tell me to go hondata.

i guess u like not having control of timing?

what u need is more boost(u cant do that now cause of the wastegate), a bigger turbo, and ur fuel system is ok its just kinda ghetto. sell the vafc, inline, and fmu and u already have 400$ down towards hondata s200. why are u against hondata?
