Transmission for 400+ WHP build in Crx,Other Questions
Well i am in central america rite now, but il be home soon in washington state and be finishing up my build.
This is what i have:
jdm type r head
sk2 pro valves
supertech springs and retainers
ctr cams
GSR block
Golden eagle sleeves
CP pistons
Eagle rods
balanced, knifeedged blah blah blah
moroso pan
all new gaskets everywhere, oil pump, water pump etc.
Topmount
GT3076R
Tial 44mm vband
3" DP
hks ssqv bov
wideband etc. etc.
Precision 1000cc injectors
AEM FPR and Fuel rail
blah blah all the rest of the stuff that you need
My question is, i don't have a tranny rite now, i got scammed out of mine and can't get it back becuase i trusted a friend, who obviously isn't a friend anymore.
What transmission and clutch setup should i use that will put up with the beating?
Should i stay cable or do a cable>hydro conversion?
I have the old school hasports and if i did the conversion i would just buy new hasports w/the conversion.
Should i get rid of my jk motorsports genII traction bars and find a different setup? i really havn't had any problems with it at all when i had my itr swap in my crx.
Anything is appreciated, thanks

I believe you can only go hydro to cable, not cable to hydro. i may be wrong though.
If you can go cable to hydro,id definatly get a hydro tranny. any beefy clutch with a cable trans is going to kill your leg.
Also,id go with a LS trans, but you'll probably get other opinions. LS trans IMO is the best trans for boost, esp. high HP set ups. but the choice is up to you.
Theres my .02 cents.

Yes you can go cable to hydro, thats why hasport and other company's make the conversion for it.
Im happy that you think LS is great for boost, but shorter gears=better acceleration whether you are boosted or NA, thats a fact.

If that was the case why dont you go with a ITR trans then....hell shorter gears=better accel right?
Go read a tranmission thread, and read how a transmission effects more then "acceleration". Then you might understand that shorter gears are not always better, especially on a 400whp car.
Look i was trying to help you out, and from reading it looks like you need it. but if you want to be a dick, then good luck with you little build.

Well i can buy new mounts and do cable>hydro conversion and its not an issue, anyone have any opinion on if hydro are stronger then cable? so some yes because of the simple fact that cable are generally much older...

to do that setup then your looking at trying to find a ys1 case, then also finding a hydro b16 to tear the gears out of, seems like it could become not as cost effective
