tranny swap and hondata done... but nothing ever goes right...
EDIT: added the dyno sheet few posts down
swapped tranny, installed hondata, dyno'd. now time for the test drive. got out into the street and started running it pretty hard.. we heard some pinging... we take it back and pull some timing. second test run... running hard again, and dont notice any pinging.. wait now theres lots of smoke!!!!!! shut it down immediatley when we noticed oil pressure gauge was at 0. got it towed back to the shop and notice the golden eagle sandwich adapter is dangling on the turbo feed line..... but how did it come off???? it actually ripped off a peice of the block off. (the threads where the oil filter screws onto). Luckily there was 3 threads left.. and we JB welded it on... and JB welded the sandwich adapter on as well. seems to be holding ok after a few 100mph passes.
seems to be an ok temp fix?... but what is a better long-term fix?
atleast i made 190whp @7psi w/89 octane.

lol sorry... but i broght my car to the shop straight from the smog check. thats one thing i over looked. after this tank runs out i plan on putting in 91 as usual.
but has anyone ever seen or even heard of something like this happening? also what is the oil psi to the filter under lots of boost? or is it always gonna be at 85-90psi max?

Re: (jazz215)
It dyno'ed fine with no pinging, and then on the street it started to ping? How much did it lean out, and what was the Air Fuel ratio on the dyno?

not to sure on the a/f ratio... wasnt listed on the printout. I put in the 91octane and feels better. oil level and pressure seem to still be fine. ill try to scan the dyno sheet in.
small turbo is really fun, gets up and goes. im going to turn up the boost after i get a boost controller.
but still havent gotten any feedback about the problem i was having with the block... anyone?

do you know how the sandwich adapter goes around the stock oil filter screw?
oil filter => sandwich adapter => oil filter threads on block
well the oil filter, sandwhich adapter and a chunk of the threads on the block ripped off.

damn that sounds like it didn't thread on right in the first place.....maybe stripped the blocks threads and then the heat finished it off

it could be... the theory so far is.. maybe someone tightened the oil filter toooo tight and put alot of stress on the block. and it just sorta gave way.
