Default tranny blanket instead of scattershield? look inside...

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...rchType%3DBoth

has anybody tried that instead of paying over 200 bucks for a scatter shield? How did you like the tranny blanket?

is an SFI 4.1 good enough for NHRA and other similar sanctions?

I looked into it for my car because of the weight savings. The one problem your gonna have is fitment. The other which goes along with fitment is keeping it tight all the way over the clutch houseing part of the trany. Other than that, seems like a good idea.

the tranny blanket is the way to go. It is NHRA approved. al lyou would need is sfi rating stamped on it sfi 5.1 i think. if i remember correctly. I was looking for one as well. It makes tranny swaps at the track 100 times faster.

I run the B&M right now. I hate the thing, it weighs a ton and fitment is not very good. It also makes it so you dont get full threads in the block and makes them prone to strip out. I dont think it would make my trany swap at the track any faster because the bolts have to come out anyways......Mike

hmm...so what's the deal with the transmission blanket? can i use it instead of a scatter shield? i'm having one hell of a time trying to find an h22a scatter shield!
also...are these strictly for race purposes? or can it be on daily driven? and how do i get this sfi 5.1 stamp?
