Re: TR3030R GSR, Thanks Shodan!
Great numbers on 93 octane sir! I am also running the Skunk2 Tuner 1 cams and an Interceptor turbo from Mac. My retune(or should I say my finish tune) date is next Friday April 5th. Your car must be a blast to drive especially with the GREAT poweband of the TR3030R you have.

Mac Haha always been great, he actually takes the time to listen to the customer, their needs andsp wants... as well as overall power level, torque desired, operating range of the motor
As well as purpose of the vehicle, type of power band wanted, etc,
He can make you almost anything you want and his product line is currently expanding in leaps and bounds, you'll all be impressed
Hell I still have one of his earliest big units from 2005-2006 and its perfect.

When I started telling him what I was looking for he knew the TR3030R was exactly what I was looking for and man was he right!

Re: TR3030R GSR, Thanks Shodan!
Yea, I'm discussing a gt30r based turbo for my ls/VTEC build
But only after I've done some testing with two of my own turbos for my own satisfaction.... and to have concrete proof of what these particular turbos can do, since one of them no one can figure out how to control (vgt turbo) and the other everyone wants to try but don't have the means to get/make a manifold for (evo 8 16, with and without a 34mm inlet restrictor, then I'll convert it to a 20g)
The evo turbos really shine on our motors but only with proper manifold design and knowing what kind of pressure they like
It seems like everyone is afraid of "high pressure ratios" these days and I rarely see a setup that runs more than 20psi, people need to nut up and let their turbo do what it was designed to do lol

I want more boost but my tuner doesn't want to blow it up. He wants me to get a knock sensor before we go for more boost. I think 25psi is a nice round number and should get me over 500 on pump. Then it will be time to see what race gas will do, just for the hell of it.
Good luck with your build. Look forward to seeing the results!

Completely understandable sir. I also have heard that leaded gas kills wideband sensors.

I'm getting close to needing a bigger core. I haven't figured out how I'm going to do that yet. I really don't want to remove the bar across the front. I may cut out some of the lower part of the bar and then box it and reinforce it. I haven't made up my mind yet.

Re: TR3030R GSR, Thanks Shodan!
Time for an update. Was getting a lot of noise from the drive line. Pulled the transmission and found this:
In summary:
Half of a tooth is broken off the ring gear
Two teeth are broken off the countershaft
1st gear to 2nd gear sleeve is worn beyond reuse
3rd gear to 4th great sleeve is worn beyond reuse
5th gear to reverse gear sleeve is worn to the point of concern
2nd gear on countershaft side is worn beyond reuse
3rd gear on main shaft side is worn beyond reuse
4th gear on main shaft side is worn beyond reuse
5th gear on main shaft side is worn to the point of concern
Transmission was stock with exception of Quaife dif and has about 110,000 miles on it. First boost was about 70,000 @300whp then power increased to 450-470 around 95,000
Car has never been on the track or on slicks.

But this was sudden? No knotching or signs? I had the case off mine it was a little sketch in 3rd at high rpm. Sure enough that gear was wearing down and I re installed the trans lol. We're talking less power but way harsher driving in my case (a lot of racing)

I had a good idea the synchros/bearings were shot.
The last few months are when I am confident the significant damage was done (especially the last month)

Hahaha the carnage. I made a post how something is contaminating my oil like the LSD leaking. So far so good tho.
So use your LSD in a new donor or fully rebuilt?

The LSD is in perfect shape, just need to replace the ring gear, so no need to replace it. It is a Quaife so I'm not to worried about it being damaged. I do plan on having the new internals enhanced: http://www.libertysgears.com/metal%20enhancement.htm

Thanks Tony...
For 1158 and Muckman, I tried to be able to show an example of it on one of my own personal TA cars that I used over the years (DC2 ITR B-series, JDM conversion), to show as an example.
*81mm Bore X 87.2mm stroke - GE sleeved B18C1
*CP 9.7:1 Pistons /Eagle Rods
*Toda Racing Spec A camshafts
*Toda Racing Timing Belt
*Toda Racing Valvesprings /Retainers
*VRE 3.1" Full V-band exhaust w/ APex'i N1 Muffler
*TR3030R Turbo .63A/R T3 inlet 3" v-band outlet.
*Siemen Deka 850cc injector
*Apex'i POWER FC standalone
*Greddy Profec B SpecII with Remote Scramble option
*Clutchmaster FX450 Carbon Kevlar clutch
*NSX Brake calipers/blanks and Colbalt Friction GT Sport pads.
A quick view of the car
And a small shakedown test --- Please note, that in both videos, there was just not enough room to go WOT without putting others at risk, so I stayed at only about 60% and we were logging data at the same time.
Street test -- only 1.09BAR at 60%

Highway test -- 1.16BAR at 60%

I see you are in North Carolina, if you need your trans rebuilt "the right way" I have a contact for you, he is a authorized synchrotech dealer/MFactory and he does legit work, can also custom build your trans to your liking. If you're interested fill free to PM me. Only thing is he is near Hickory, NC which I know is a ways for you. It's a 2.5 hr drive for me from Raleigh.
And I def will be using the synchrotech stuff. Heard nothing but good things about them.
