Torque seems low on dyno
My setup:
B18C1
Drag III turbo kit @ 6.5psi
Hondata S200B
440cc injectors
RS*R flextube back with Mugen twin-loop
I had my car tuned on the dyno last monday and this is my sheet:
I was thinking I'd at least hit 200ft/lbs. Any ideas on why I didn't?

Re: Torque seems low on dyno (Judah)
it might have somethign to do with your exhaust setup? I have seen more torque but at 6.5psi thats pretty good. Looks smooth.

Really? Hmm, ok. I'm a little thrown off seeing these D16 turbos making ~200whp with ~180wtq but I guess that's at like 10-11psi....

D series motors have a longer stroke which is why you see the higher torque. Hence the reason they don't rev as high (D motors).

Re: Torque seems low on dyno (MachAF)
yeah it doesn't seem horrible... but two things:
1) turn up the boost
2)It looks like your vtec settings is too low. Play with it next time your at the dyno, but it looks like it would be better @ 5500 or so unless i'm reading your graph wrong. I think it's coming in too early and your losing power, hence the torque dip on teh graph.

Yeah, I saw that. I was thinking that exact same thing.

Yeah, no ****
So how do I get above 200ft/lbs without upping the boost?
Is it possible?

Yeah, that turbo loves the upper range.
It's nice for the freeway though, which is where 95% of my driving is done.....

Re: Torque seems low on dyno (Judah)
If you ask me it looks like VTEC is at 5400rpm, 5000-5200rpm would be my recommendation. I have dynoed plenty of turbo B-series motors and you usually gain 20-30lb trq midrange by lowering it. Stock GSR intake manifold, this changes things if it is stock?

Re: Torque seems low on dyno (SOUNDEFFECTS)
Stock GSR IM. The vtec x-over is currently at around 4800rpm, I think it needs to be a bit higher. You can really feel the torque loss for about 500 or so rpms when it crosses over....

Looks almost spot-on with my dyno.
Stock B18C1, *most* of a Revhard kit, 2.5" DP and 2.3" catback- 244whp/168wtq @ 6psi.

Cool, I won't worry about it then. I'll up the boost to 10psi in a year or so when I get rods and pistons....

Re: Torque seems low on dyno (Judah)
most likely exhaust.. 2.25" piping isn't best for that type of whp.. and if thats all the whp you want to run.. you can have better powerband with smaller turbo and gain more torque on low end and midrange.
