Torque mount inserts eliminated wheel hop
Well I figured I would post this here because this section is most concerned with wheel hop IMO (if incorrect place please feel free to move it).
Before I had the torque damper made by NGR I believe, long story short it is now in the landfill about 10 miles away from here. The vibrations caused it to come apart and it never really did much anyways other than make my cabin vibrate.
Taking LightningTeg's advice I decided to get torque mount inserts, I figured what the hell $40 shipped why not.
I did not use the zip ties that they supply and instead I went and got 1/4" bolts 2.5" long and stacked a smaller washer onto a larger one and had the washer contact on the insert (on both sides, 4 total per insert) be as large as possible to pull the inserts tight. I did this on both sides except the back.
To install the rear one the easiest you go from under the car and remove all the bolts from the H brace (one is easier from the top on a Non Vtec at least). And then go up and remove the 10mm nut holding the heater hose to the firewall. Once this is done you can freely move the H brace out of the way. For me I could not do it from under the car and right before I almost removed the mount from the car I went and moved the H brace up from above the car. This gave me a direct shot to the mount to install the bushings.
Once I installed all 3 mounts I went to start the car expecting it to vibrate like crazy. Nope! Car barely vibrates at all and if I had to explain it I would say it feels like the A/C is on. I have a hand full of change in my car and it doesn't even make any noise.
Outcome is like night and day. Shifts are so much more firm and it doesn't wheel hop at all from what I can tell. Before the dash would act like it was coming off from wheel hop. Now its just a smooth wheel spin. A must have mod IMO.

Re: Torque mount inserts eliminated wheel hop
Nice man that's awesome. I absolutely hate wheel hop! Stiff mounts, good coil overs, and stiff suspension bushings help a lot. I have all 3 myself and get zero wheel hop. I'm just running 3 oem motor mounts diy filled with construction adhesive and its stiff as hell and vibrates like crazy inside the car lol. I would do exactly what you did if it was a dd though.

Just regular energy suspension ones. I did get the black ones as I hate the race car look of the red bushings. No idea if there is any difference other than color. Sorry for no pics there were enough write ups on how to do it I figured I would just be white noise there.
Hopefully if anyone searches in the future or is doing it now this thread can help them. I wish I had found a good thread for the rear mount but I didn't. However searching is your friend when modding!

Will give you a lot or search here on the forum.

Yeah, I have some Energy ones laying around but they were from a gsr and dont fit the voids on the random mounts in my collection..that I've compared lately anyway. i dont like the zipties either and had thought about bolts like u did, so was curious how it turned out.
Kinda screwed the pooch and started cutting one with a razor knife the other day to try to match one up... should've waited, might pick up a new set... I keep throwing the axle out.

Re: Torque mount inserts eliminated wheel hop
I had no wheel hop last year, got an alignment at the begining of this season, and she hops pretty decent on launching now, gonna have to head back and see if there is anything my alignment guy can figure out.
Ive got 70a motor mounts, traction bar already to. Kinda sucks

That does..
I thought traction bars were a sure fix. What kind of control arm bushings are you sporting?
I guess getting a better contact patch after alignment exposed a weakness in your setup.
btw ..that pic of your car in wash bay lookin good, who da hell has car washes with back walls?

Can u use these on aftermarket motor mounts or is it not really needed if u have aftermarket mounts I have hasport mounts but fitting wheel hop just ordered traction bars but not installed yet

Re: Torque mount inserts eliminated wheel hop
Honestly if you put the traction bars on without upgrading the control arm bushings its just moving the force into the stock ones which will move alot lol.
I have 65A's mounts (I ordered 72 they sent 65, i said **** it ill try em), torque mount inserts, traction bars, poly lower control arms. The engine mounts helped alot, and the traction bars felt like all the power was getting down and it pulled straighter, but the wheel hop was still there. Since I did the lower arms it got a little better, but I think the upper control arms are a bigger piece in the puzzle since it is a bigger moment arm.

Its not going to go away from just doing torque inserts. The suspension is still free to move like stock which is where it comes from anyway. Your just putting more power to the ground

First things I did to my CRX.
Hasport mounts
Prothane bushing kit
Skunk2 Pro-S coilovers
Traction bar
I have never had the slightest bit of wheel hop.

Lower control arms are a pain to burn out the old ones but it feels solid. Im going to pick up some hard race pillowballs for the upper mounts this summer
