Default Took a ride in a JRSC GSR

Last night i got to ride in my friend's GSR equipped with a JRSC and some generic intake. He sold his old intake, header, and exhaust to pay for the JRSC. Anyway, we were cruising with 4 of my other friends, GST, GSX, 2.5 RS, and Civic DX. First he ran the GST, he's got inake, exhaust, upgraded intercooler and turbo piping, and he's running 15 psi on the stock turbo. First time he missed second and they were even when they shut down in 3rd. Second time the GST beat him by about 1 1/2-2 cars. Next he lined up against the GSX,(owner just bought it) it's got intake and exhaust, stock boost. They went from about a 10 mph roll. The GSX jumped first then the GSR went. Through 1st and 2nd they were even but in 3rd the GSR started walking away pretty quickly. After last night i know for sure that i want to go FI in the future.

did you have that backwards? is the gst that fast with those mods to beat an AWD turbo eclipse? it confuses me cuz i have friends w/ gsr's that have i/h/e that can beat gsts (at least up until third anyway, they never take it farther)

have you heard anything about the Vortech one? the new honda tunning has an article about a super charged gs-r. must say i was not really impressed from end results. something like 14.9@93 in 1/4 on 17" rims . on h/e.....it should seem like it would do mid high 14's/ low 13's considering it's almost designed like a turbo.

Isn't the GST rated at a little lower horsepower stock like 10 or 20 hp lower than the GSX? I know the GSX is AWD, but a friend of mine had a simular moded GST and it was really fast. I guess with those upgrades on the GST, you would have an advantage over a stock GSX. I don't know about you, but GST's are pretty quick when modded the right way.

I read that too, I thought the numbers were pathetic. But so were their 60 foot times. Something like 2.7 -2.9 or something.

I've seen stock greddy turbos with 5psi and small intercooler do a 13.8 on a stock clutch and stock si wheels. Turbo is the way to go. That's my opinion anyway.

from a 10mph roll a GST will beat a GSX once they are into 2nd a bit, the AWD system is extremely heavy in those things. Was the GST a 1st or 2nd gen?

no one on this site likes them. they have lag and unlike a turbo they dont make up for it in the top end.

yea whats up with that, in the article it said it was getting 245 to the wheels. The E.T. definately should have been lower than 14.9 considering it was getting decent horsepower.

You could blame the terrible et on any number of things but the 93 trap is disgraceful. Point is no vortech. As for roots (jrsc) sure, whatever floats your boat. Just remember that unless you are one of the elite few who have completely owned the roots and all its quirks , I'll take all your money on 8 psi... and thats just the b18c1 dc2

I forgot to add that the GST also has upgraded his clutch, i think it's ACT Stage Two. GSX's are not fast all if you go from a roll, my friend's GST is really fast, mostly cause he's running 15 pounds of boost on the stock turbo. When he raced the GSX they went from a roll of about 10 mph so AWD did not help all that much. If it was from a stop it would have been a differnet story.
