Too much back pressure????

I had a general question (car is not important, but if you must know it is a boosted suby wagon) regarding to much back pressure on a boosted car, and if someone can give me a legit answer, you win the prize.

I gutted my cats a while back and they felt great being gone. I am afraid however I didn't get all of the "guts" out and they may have clogged up my muffler.

The car starts missing real bad under a load and is blowing black smoke like a diesel out the tail pipe. It sputters real bad, and I can no longer go the speed limit without pushing 5 psi of boost. Could this be because my muffler is clogged? I think I seen some gunk fly out of my exhaust pipe today, but it may have been road debris.

BTW, I know these symptoms could be related to many things, but take into consideration all of my sensors are fairly new, timing belts are new, IGN components are new, and fuel filter is new, and I have no cel on.

My only other guess would be the purge control solenoid, as it can make my car run very rich when it goes bad, and it doesn't throw a cell.

Thanks.

Yeah Try disconnecting the exh. where the DP bolts to the cat and see if you get mad fast spool! lol Your muffler might be clogged, take it off and find out or du bolt the cat from the DP and see if that does anything.

Yes, I ended up having a bad charcoal cannister that was not letting the purge control solidnoid activate. It is fixed now.
