People seem to think I meant, deleting them is damaging or will cause a "problem". They will NOT. Thousands of people have done it, including myself.

They help prevent excessive wear (usually on piston skirts) and heat, by keeping the cylinder walls lubricated and the bottom of the pistons cooler than running without them

It was just a suggestion, based on what the car was being used for. For a road course car, I would go as far as recommending keeping them, more so for cooling. I work with race teams that swear by keeping the oil-squirters. That's all.

Again, so do we. On stock Cast pistons that road race, yes. On turbocharged applications using a forged piston/rod, the difference is not significant. If it were, there would be more Time Attack Evolutions that would have installed them as an aftermarket option. But I understand where you're coming from.

Update: $6,000 and 3 months later the car is finally done with body work and paint and I am now installing all the gauges and relocating the battery and doing all the electrical work. Also putting fuel pumps in and fuel lines. Here are some pics of the car:

For $6k that thing had better been on a rotisserie and the whole undercarriage POR15'd and all that ****. Even $3k would be kind of high for a stock paint job. That thing better be straight as a laser too. But if you enjoy it and are happy with it then that is all that matters.

Yea it has lifetime warranty on the paint job and all the front panels are new. It had hail damage all over. I have a family friend that works at the paint shop.

Nice start, I like it that you took time to do the body work and fresh paint should make for a nice build

Nice build man. The air sucks where I am at too. Boost is the only way to go.

My down pipe runs into my radiator. I had cut one of the radiator holding brackets off for now to fit the down pipe. Anyone have suggestions on what to do here. New down pipe or?

I have the smaller stock one but that one is worse. You can't see it from the picture but each bolt has 4 washers spacing it away from the manifold.

The cable needs to be down low almost parallel with the mounting bolts

And yes, the downpipe needs to be completely re-fabricated. That should fit your radiator without incident.

I hadn't seen this build in a long time.

I ABSOLUTELY would NEVER have cut off that stock bracket. It defeats the clean look you are going for. Just because the stuff you had wasn't made right isn't an excuse to cut it off haha. Oh well... too late now. For the bracket you simply modify it as needed (cut, weld, bend, etc) and paint it afterwards. I shoot for perfect alignment on mine.

Stick the part with holes in a vise and bend it towards you (from pic angle) should put the cable more in line
