Tired of downpipe bolts... studs or v band?
I absolutely HATE the downpipe bolts.... they get stuck all the time and are a pain in the butt to get out sometimes.
Would it be wiser to just go with studs/nuts or v band? I have a drag 2.5" downpipe.
i dont feel liek spending money right now to get full 3".... and I wanna keep my AC. So, even if I get a V band for the 2.5" and decide to flare it out to 3" past the oil pan, all will be well.
so... Choose one...

Studs and Nuts! I just changed mine. I feel you on the damn bolts. I would have to tighten them every week. Now I have studs with a ton of loctite. Dont put too much locktite like me. I almost used a whole tube and man....that **** STINKS when it burns!!!!!!! I really do not anticipate problems in the future.
BTW, the problem is really if you have not used flexpipe. The stress kills the threads on the turbine housing. I had to retap each one and that was not fun.

Do they even make v bands for 2.5 inch?
Yeh I think I might go for some flex pipe... good idea

vband is expensive... last time I looked it was like 100+. I think it's only worth it if you are going to be taking off your dp all the time.

I use studs. Def. can get more torque on them. However, i use lock washers, and once and a blue moon the bolts do get loose. Maybe I should try that locktite , or better yet another bolt on top of the other.

I am going to be using the V-band myself. Here is a link to some pics for those who don't know what it looks like. http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/stainsteelt31.html. This is the 2.5in sold by cheapturbo.com it goes for $140.
