Default Timing monitor

Is there a way to know how many degrees of timing you are set at electonically. I was thinking about designing a sw program that will monitor all stats of the engine (all temps, boost, rpm, tp). Therefore needing an analog or digital input for the monitor.

Hondata, AEM EMS etc.

Not worth it to do it with a stock ECU and say an FMU setup or AFC when the extra money spent can be put towards the above.
