Default timing belt cover easy to remove during dyno tuning?

my motor is being finished up and dropped in my car. i have cam gears. i am going to break it in before i get it dyno tuned. i dont know what to do about the timing belt cover. i dont really want to drive around without it. do i have to take other stuff off to remove it, is it difficult? should it be left off? i have also seen people cut circles into the cover, but that worries me too. sorry if this is a dumb question. thanks for your answers.

Top half of the gears are covered by the valve cover, and the lower half are covered by the upper timing belt cover. You need to take the valve cover off to get the upper timing belt cover off. I would just leave it on until you go to the dyno. You might want to pick up a spare valve cover and cut it to expose the top half of the gears to make it easier to adjust them, as well as leave the upper timing belt cover off when you go to the dyno.

its easy, but you dont want to waste expensive dyno time taking off a cover.
