timing with afc...
I am not to sure about timing with the afc... I currently have my timing kicked back quite a bit but am not sure if it is enough.
I am running 6.5 psi on a afc with 450cc dsm's. this is on the f22b1. I have heard you need to pull as much as 10 degrees @ dizzy but I think that sounds like a bit much. anyone wanna nail it down to some decent opinions? I know about how the afc settings affect the ecu reading ign map., and thats why I hear to pull so much more timing... but I dont have the slightest clue how much. btw I dont like testing with my deaf ass at hearing a ping or knock... so please help me out if you can, even though I am an f. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif |

I wanna know also.
But I have the MSD BTM with the AFC hack. Just dunno know much should I adjust on the Knob, I have it set on mine at .75 per lb of boost. and on the BTM the retard starts to retard at 2lbs. The dizzy is set to stock. what are you experts recommend. |

10* retard is insane! I backed my Civic about 3* for use at 10psi, same with the GSR and both ran fine. As long as you're running good fuel and plugs, 3* should be more than enough for moderate boost, particularly with static CR's i the 9's.

thats what I thought about 10 degrees too, but so many different opinions in the afc thread that liam started, you cant hardly straighten out the answers.

well if you follow the .75 degrees of retard per psi, at 6.5 psi, you'd have to retard around 5 degrees of base timing....
