Default Ticking time Bomb???

I am seriously considering buying this car.

1995 Honda EG
Dyno Tuned by StoopidFast of Houston
B18 swap with SC61 turbo
250WHP@8psi, 357WHP@14psi on Pump Gas

This car has a bone stock GSR swap with custom turbo kit. Everything is stock Engine, tranny, axles etc...

I am a little scared of those power levels on a stock GSR.

Any input would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Throw a set of rods in pistons in it and be done. Those are some nice numbers for a complete stock motor though.

Those nice numbers are what worries me.

If I need to tear it down and rebuild it to "trust" it then its not worth the asking price.

I probably wouldnt run more than 10psi but even at that it is scary, I am hoping my fears are unfounded.

357 seems about right on a stock gsr. 14 psi is safe. you could go more and still be safe.

pretty good tuner from what ive heard and the numbers sound right. maybe just do a compression and leakdown test to make sure the motor is still healthy. regardless you are inheriting someone else's project so you never know what might turn up.

At this point, all stock GSR's are at LEAST 8 yrs old, so the motor itself can be a crapshoot. All you can expect is that it will hold for another year or three, depending on how you treat it. The problem I see is the turbo's size. That puppy can do over 450whp on pump gas, and will never be as responsive as a smaller turbo.
