hey all i have a blue tial waste gate...
as can be seen in the following link

now eveyone talks about getting bigger springs.. can you get smaller springs for this wastegate and who sells them ? and how much normaly are they...

Currectly i have a 1.5bar spring.. i want a much much much smaller spring.. somewhere around 6psi max boost....
or is there something i can do 2 this wastegate to work at a lower setting.

ok i worked out that yes you can buy springs.. and importparts.com sell em YAY

but.. now im all confused in which spring to get...
i have no idea if i have a 1.5bar spring and or a .65 bar spring..
have a look at the pic of the box...and tell me what ya think..

strangely enough all the spring sizes on VS rancing website.. and they don't have a .65bar and or a 1.5bar spring..so yeha.. i wonder what i have...


iv had a few ppl say its .65 bar... does that mean.. if i use this wastegate on stock internals.. it will go to like 9psi.. and then i can use hondata to limit the max psi.. which will allow me to run up to 7-8psi of boost on my b16a2... yeah ? (so it runs safely...)
and then when my enigne gets built.. sleves / pistson (9:1) rods...i can use a afc-r to increase the boost to 18psi yeah ??

that definately looks like .65 bar to me. If you wanted to go under that, you would still need to get a different spring

you can't use hondata to control boost. the boost cut limit on hondata is designed to impose a rev limit if the boost goes over a certain preset amount. i don't know the exact rev limit that imposes but i would imagine it is around 2000-2500. when your rpms drop down you will then be able to rev up again.

u know i as looking a 6lbs spring too but i was told that 5.5lbs is the closest u can get...probably have to get a boost controller

ill be gettin a boost controler anyway !! so 5.5lb spring is fine for me....Just wish ben would reply to my emails ehhehe...

in the end once my engine is built.. ill use the .65bar spring that came with my wastegate and use a controler to increase it up to 18psi !

still waitin on ben.. reason i wanta get the spring from ben is because he's about to send 60kg of stuff to me.. (the rest of my turbo kit ) i hope he has't sent it yet.. so he can put the spring in my large order !!
