Default Tial turbine housing

I know it's lighter. Some people say it spools faster then a T3, some people say it takes longer to spool. It's supposed to flow better so I'm assuming it would spool faster. Anyone on here use one? Specifically on a GT3076R with .82 ar

I have this exact turbo on a stroked Audi 4 cylinder I am in the process of building. It is fully forged, fully built head, 2.5" short routed FMIC pipes, Tial 50mm very close to TB. The Turbo itself sits on a custom fab'd sch 10 1.5" 304 SS manifold with 10 deg. 7" long merge collector with 45deg takeoff to Tial 44mm gate. I'm running a 1800 AWHP capable fuel system including 4 custom Moran Motorsport Powertip 5 injectors. It is considerably lighter, and according to everyone I've found that has actually used these turbos, it spools a couple hundred RPM's sooner than a standard GT3076R, AND makes more power throughout. I'll be finding out in the next month if all goes according to plans!
It is also more expensive, and requires a lower merge angle (if you want it to perform to it's full potential))
I now have a "quick change" turbo though, and can swap on larger or smaller (same family) Tial-Garrett turbochargers in under 15 minutes with only a 7/16" & 1/2" wrench and my bare hands. The flanges and V-band clamps required for these are proprietary. Order them when/if you buy the turbo as standard 2.5" 3" etc... V-band clamps and flanges don't fit correctly. -The Tial parts (like everything else Tial makes) are expensive, but worth every penny

Anyone here successfully setup and run an AEM 30-1900U? I'm located in Southwest Florida, and am currently searching for some help in setting up my base tune on this standalone EMS. If anyone knows who "THE guy" is that really knows how to make a lot of horsepower with an AEM (Close to me, Fort Myers/NAples area) I'd be more than happy to publish my results once I'm up and running. Similar setup (to mine) are making 450-500 AWHP on the GT3076R, and I'm hoping to make at least 550 All Wheel HP on pump gas and alky injection.

That's a crazy setup. So you need a special Tial flange and clamp for the manifold and downpipe?

& Yup, Tial makes the flanges on these turbines a proprietary size. After the turbo itself, you need an turbine inlet flange and clamp, then another flange and clamp for the turbine discharge. -Turbine outlet is close and is reported to fit a plain jane V-band flange and clamp, BUT both inlet and outlet have a lip/recess machined into the flanges. they fit together really nicely and are HIGH high high quality, just as you'd expect for the price (and from Tial in general)

I try and use the tial housings when ever I can. It just makes the install so much cleaner. Plus it gives you the ability to rotate the turbo if something doesn't line up right. The inside of the turbine housing is so much nicer than normal cast iron housings so it has to help some. Here is a pic of one I put on a ford focus.

How are these comparable to a t3 or t4 flanged turbo? Power differences? Spool differences?

28-35 is T3 equiv.
shouldn't make any more power, but the spool might be a bit better

wont rust, it's light, it can pivot 360*, easy on/easy off
