Default Tial 44mm wastegate. Is this diaphragm ok to use?

I took the top cover off to see what spring I had and noticed this. This is the first time I know of the cover being off. I bought the wastegate brand new and it's been on the car for 3 or 4 years now. I just want to know if I should get a new cup assy. From the looks of it, it doesn't look like it would leak.

I bought 2 44mm wastegates 2 years ago and I took one apart to adjust the spring late last year and it HAD THE SAME EXACT THING. I was like WTF...but ive been running it since then without any issues, i used a flat head to peel it apart and then lubed it up to be able to slide the top cover over it very carefully. Its crazy because when i saw the title of this thread i started to contact tial to find out how much it would cost to get it rectified...funny that im seeing the same thing on someone elses wastegate.

lol, that is crazy. i'm not able to pull it apart, it's probably bonded because it's been in that state for so long. datalogs show that boost is spiking about 3 psi over what the boost controller is set for, but i don't know if that is because of the diaphragm. it's most likely the wastegate placement.

Bummer. I'd say youre fine unless there's a hole in it and leaking.

That looks like a defect. TiAL gives good support, if it gets damaged when you pull it apart I bet they'll give you a new one

TiAL - like I said in my 2nd post, i can't peel it apart. it's pretty much bonded like that now.

just give it a good tug, it will come apart, don't be afraid to apply a little force

also what is the SN on the top?
