Default Tial 40mm Wastegate, Will it hold 30psi and 650-700hp???

I have never used tial products before and i dont carry them so I dont know too much about them. Will the 40 mm gate hold 30 psi and 700hp?? I have been using the hks standard gate and its works perfect. I have been on 26psi +nitrous and it doesnt creep at all. Does anyone know if the hks gate since it is 40mm also will fit on the same flange as the tial 40mm?? one more thing, what is the difference int he standard 40mm and the tial HP 40mm?? is it just a stiffer spring?? i see the hp gates start at 15lbs and up where the standard gate goes to 14.5. thanks for any info, you guys can give me. Ive been researching my *** off and cant find concrete info.

yep, it will. Also look at a racegate -- its only 42mm and ive seen it control 943 whp.

i believe they also make a 46mm

why not just stick w/ the hks?

they do make a 46 but the wastegate port on the full-race manifold i have is a 40mm and dont want to chop it or alter it.

worked for me. the turbonetics racegate can't be compared to the tial 40mm. it will outflow it! innovative makes a 42mm that is good to 900+hp.

don't get me wrong, the tial w/g's are great, but I couldn't run anyting less then 18psi without creep. this doesn't work out to well when your trying to run 12 psi in first gear and the w/g creeps to 18. get the innovative!

Thats highly odd what manifold were you running. its usually poor manifold deisgn and wg placement that causes spikes.

it wasn't spiking, it would just keep creeping up. it would start at about 14 and creep to 18. I reaaly don't believe you could stick a 8psi spring and expect it to hold a solid 8psi, there is just to much energy for that w/g to bleed off. I was running the jg/hotshot manifold.

With Tial that's the exact case. I put a 14psi spring in and it holds 14psi on the dot. That is why Tial is so great because it is very accurate.
I wasn't a believer of tial at one time till i tried and tested their product.

I put in a 7psi spring and it held at 7psi on the dot.

There might have been other factors that might have caused the creep.

yah but for high h/p motors with higher compression and cams etc. the tial 40mm won't cut it!

MotorMatrix - why are you switching from the HKS??

Hey Mike, if i was you, id just get the 46mm, im sure there is soemthing geoff can do about the WG flange.. besides if you want to hold boost with the best of accuracy, i reccomend the tial 46mm.. Cutting and rewelding a 46mm flange shouldnt be that hard anyways, id rather be safe then sorry, you know? good luck.

I could just chop the flange and reweld another one but i wanted to see if the 40mm tial would work before i did it. The thing is that the hks is a 40mm gate and it has controlled 760hp-900hp and 38-42psi of boost on the rosado racing car. so i figured the tial at 40mm should be able to do the same on 650-700 and 30-35 psi of boost.

ninesecteg-my new motor is going to be 9:1 and will have stock type r cams. the tial should work ok. if it doesnt i'll sell it and go back to HKS or go with the T'netics newgen with the v-band.
