threw a code 1 and 17... could tunning hondata mess with speed sensor??
Hey guys, I have a feeling the code 1 (o2 sensor) is because I have been driving an untuned B16a with GSR ecu (real rich) for a while before tunning, and just fouled up the o2...
but I don't understand why code 17, which is the speed sensor, spit out of my ecu's memory??
has anyone had this code during tunning?
the eng light goes on only sometimes (after 1/2hr). then is off again when I restart the car, so I don't know if code 1 was turning on eng light, and the code 17 was just in memory or what...
no affect in performance, idle, anything...
any clues?

I've seen random code 17's pop up before when the wiring from the ECU to the blue box wasn't 100%.

hmm, thats interesting but I don't think that relates to me because I have the S100... no blue box.

i was throwing a code 17 when i chipped my ecu for uberdata, but i just re-went over all of my solder connections a 2nd time (even tho they all looked decent). and it fixed itself.
So just switch out the ECU and see if anything happens... if it does - well, hondata is to blame. Just try a bunch of troubleshooting techniques. Make sure your connector on the speed sensor is fully connected etc etc.

nah, the car is tuned... went to Torin's last sat... eng light didn't come on until a few days ago. it goes on after about 1/2hr commute in the morn... it's off on the ride home.
runs great, tuning is perfect... I'm wondering if the cel 17 tripped during the tune session, has that happened to anyone?
I'll reset the ecu tonight and see what code comes up...

Like I suspected... I reset the ECU and read the code when it tripped again, it's just the o2 sensor fouled up from when I was driving untuned (real rich) for months. at least I didn't run into "cylinder wash"
Just making sure no one thought it could be the tuning...
