hahahaha...i had to do the same thing.. ls longblock pass side floor of a 92 civic dx coupe. that damn longblock wouldnt make into the coupe's trunk.

the pass side seat willl fit in the trunk, ya just got to "open" it up all the way(recline)

i have had a gsr longblock in a back of a 92 hatch before. with the spare tire in there.

yea i've fit a gsr in the passenger-side in an eg hatch and a d16z6 in an EF hatch. you can actually fit it in there with the seat still there if u position it correctly. my friend did but we were careless and tore up the seat a little. we were gonna replace those shitty seats anyway

Funny thing is I was at my buddies' shop Millenium Autosports here in VA, a guy came all the way down from PA or something like that wanted to have a B16A installed in his CRX but for some reason couldn't schedule it, so he came down and picked the motor up, he had no pass seat in it so we took the engine hoist and maneuvered the whole long block and tranny in there, he must of used the valve cover as an arm rest the whole way home.

Yes it will. I had a customers shortblock in my hatch (with roll bar back there too), his tranny on the pass floor with seat still in place, and head on the pass seat.....along with various boxes consisting of forged goodies in the back seat.
My tires scrubbed a bit going over bumps, but not that bad.

I've had 2 trannies in the trunk of my 94 Civic DX coupe and boy does the rear squeek and complain alot. Also with a full LS longblock in there too, one tranny weighed it down too. Worse than cheap aftermarket lowering springs! What do you expect from a car that has 264,000 miles! gotta love it!
