Thicker Headgasket opions (from those who have had them)
As I look at my b16a tore apart im realize i need to get a head-gasket to get her a running. What is everyones experience with a thicker head-gasket. Im planing on running 9ish psi of boost on my b16a (stock internals inlinepro sc34 dsm440 vfac...blah blah blah). Would a thicker head-gasket be a wise choice or am i asking for problem (did a search but the info i gathered was kinda 50/50) ?

I have used them alot.. And I must say for a budget racer they are a great investment ... But remember their no replacement for quality forged pistons and rods , yes I have made upwards to 400 hp on a stock motor with a custom 3mm headgasket w/ a awesome turbo and fuel system done by us car runs 11.2 1/4 mile daily it belongs to Speed Tech up in Utah .. They are having fun...but like things that are too good to be true it will not last as longs a set of forged internals.. But I must say its one of the best bang for the buck items for a turbo application vehicle on a budget.. Good luck In your project and I hope I was able to help you out ...

or let me rephrase my initial question; with a thicker head gasket, how much boost could be "safe" (I use that loosely) in respect to my setup listen above.

well since my car has a boost gauge and not a dyno-meter i would kinda like to know B16a + SC34 + Thicker headgasket + X Boost(psi) = KaBang! (solve for x)
Would you say im safe with maybe 12psi?

Re: Thicker Headgasket opions (silverCRXTC)
boost is relative...they cant tell u how much boost to run... Like someone said...the breaking point is 325whp...so i guess your best bet would be to go to a dyno and find out...how much boost it takes to make 325whp...
