Thermostat vs resistrictor plate
Has anyone had problems with engine temp after turbo and installed a restrictor plate instead of the actual thermostat?
A bud of mine did this and said the engine temp dropped dramatically. He actually never bought one, he made one with an old thermostat and a washer.
He cut the thermostat out and welded a washer on, then he drilled the washer to 5/16 and replaced it in the thermo housing. He said it works great, and its the same as say Summit racing sells.
I'm thinking of trying this inexpensive mods my self. (Car only driven in summer months, so winter is not an issue.
Any thoughts?

Re: Thermostat vs resistrictor plate (Jared)
Well like I said a pal of mine did it and he said his engine temp dropped significanlty. Especially at the track. He said he did a run, then he would keep the car going with the fan on and she would cool way down for the next run.
So I think I'm going to give it a shot, before I get a larger rad anyhow.
