Thermal 3" or New exhaust mani???????
Setup....b16a2
ITR IM & TB , gsr cams, str cam gears, cometic headgasket(.o57") drag gen 3kit, rebuilt t3/t4(stock internals), Apexi N1 catback, walboro 255 pump.
Bottom line, i run an apexi n1 with mycat. I cant decide whether i want a thermal 3 " and deal with the constant noise and aggravation during the day and speed during the night. Or should i pick up an exhaust mani and keep my **** quiet but quick. My question is will a new exhaust mani with my current exhaust help my spool or should i just shut up and buy the thermal? I cant afford both so i would appreciate if that wasn't suggested. I am looking for quick repsonses so give it to me guys.

Re: Thermal 3" or New exhaust mani??????? (blu2ksi)
If I was in your position I would go for a 3" exhaust. Not hating on the Thermal but Price is an issue, and I'm ******* cheap.
N1 exhaust is not quiet so if you want to keep it on the down low then neither would be a good choice.
It all depends on what you want, Power vs Quietness..........

Re: Thermal 3" or New exhaust mani??????? (CRX T-Si)
People on here tend to really run into boost spiking problems when they really open up the exhaust with drag mani/deltagate setups. I'm not sure if that is a direct cause, or merely just coincidence. But maybe try buying a custom 3" exhaust and a tial wastegate for the price of a thermal...

Well, if your exhaust is aggravating you, you should definitely get another exhaust. I dont see how you could sacrifice quicker spool for something that will drive you insane, unless you can live with it

Get a 2.5" straight pipe to replace the cat. It's way cheaper than either a new mani or exhaust and will dramatically increase spool time. Since you seem concerned about exhaust sound volume, I'm sure it will make your decision as to go with a 3" exhaust or not that much easier. A new exhaust mani or 3" exhaust system is pointless if you're running a restrictive cat.

I find that the turbo itself makes an excellent noise supressor. When I 1st started me DelSlow project , I was running low on funds when it came to the exhaust. So I slapped on a knock off Greddy style flow through exhaust on my 2X resonator no cat 2.5" piping. Sounds mellow w/no buzz.
