temporary charge piping
 

well, i finally ran my charge piping, but im not sure how many psi it will be able to hold (i plan to run about 6 psi for the time being.). the way i have it run is temporary until my order from summit goes through and arrives at my house (im ordering mandrel bent j bends and going to weld it all together.). for now, i just have straight exhaust pipe, and rubber elbows. will that hold 6-8 psi, or should i stay out of boost for the most part until i get the bend's in? im just curious, because i dont really want to wait until i get the new charge pipe fabbed up. anyways, post up your opinions. here are some pics of how the charge pipe is run.

thanks, its a low budget build, but i try to make it look decent. do you think i will have problems with the rubber elbows blowing out? that is my main concern. if not, i think i may just leave it the way it is until i turn up the boost https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

what kind of rubber elbows are they? I know the home depot stuff gets really soft under heat. I use truck radiator hose from napa and its held fine up to almost 15psi. To tell you the truth I think its better than the silicone...I always see people with problems blowing silicone couplers and I use regular worm hose clamps and never had a problem. Been using them for 30k+ miles. Yours dont look like they're near any real heat so they should be fine.

edit: I'm only talking about straight pieces...im not sure if napa has any bends.

thats true, if you think about how much pressure/heat radiator hose is under, it makes sense. you wouldnt happen to know a part number off the top of your head would you? thx.

Not sure of the part number but I just walked in and asked for heavy duty radiator hose. You can buy it buy the foot and just cut it up. Just tell them the diameter.

It should be ok. Dont get boost happy, this way you know for sure it's not gonna leave you on the road.

it is my daily driver, and i dont drive the hell out of it now, and i have a feeling i will respect it that much more once its boosted. im kinda practicing staying out of it, and not using the ac just to get a feel for how im going to have to drive it once its done lol.

right now i have an intercooled cold air intake with a bov, it has NO throttle response whatsoever haha. another week or two and everything will be done. ill post pics and maybe a vid once its done. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I remember I had that for a couple weeks too...haha. GL

The only way to know if they'll work is to see if they hold up. Go ahead, give it full throttle, once tuned. If one blows off, no big deal. Pull over and fix it, then try again. From what I have seen with people, it's always the same one that pops off. 6PSI isn't bad and you shouldn't blow any pipes off
