Tell me what you think of this idea
I wanted to remove my AC form my civic. I never use it and it time for it to go.
So I was thinking it might be a good idea to get an intercooler put in where the AC system is located next to the engine cooling system. Something like this...
It's smaller then my front mount but it also wouldn't block off the radiator like it does now. I run about 12psi so would this be large enough? I cold also use much shorter pipes then I do now. The pipe from the turbo would be less then a foot to the intercooler.
Is this a bad idea?
Thanks

How thick is that IC? And how big are the inlet/outlets? For low boost setups, I don't see why you can't use it.

late 80's turbo chryslers came like this... why not try to find one of the daytona i/c's, and use that? its got a top & bottom inlet/outlet, and you could slide the radiator towards the driver side, mount the i/c on the passenger side, and have ZERO lag, and good intercooling...

so it wouldnt be blocking the engine cooling system righ?.....you could also try a V mount like they do on JGTC cars (mostly supras rx7's skylines and silvia's) never seen a V mount on a honda....but all those applications are custom fabricated anyways. thats just my $.02

That's a great idea
Found an old Tbird intercooler on ebay that just might do the trick.

I think it's a great idea..mount a little 10in fan on there...and voila..from the front..they wont know what it is...probably think it's an ac thinging. go for it. How much is that thing cost? I like it.
