Default Tc TRD supercharger=joke

Today at work a kid that ordered the trd supercharger for his tc came in. After the 5 hour install (new injectors, ecu reflash and diff intake) we took the car out. Its probably the biggest dissapointment ever. The car is still slow as ***** and would probably get walked by a swaped civic. The kid that just spent 3200 is not going to be a happy camper. to trd.

TRD always seemed freakishly expensive, but hell who are we to say? Mugen isn't exactly cheap either.

You probably needed to upgrade the fuel system that's why. http://www.urdusa.com

A guy on one of the toyota boards I frequent makes 300hp and 350flbs with a TRD supercharger.

One of my friends also has a TRD supercharger with an upgraded fuel system and a smaller pulley(+headers, exhaust ect..).
With the rear diff locked he can do a solid 100 foot burn out. And thats with 31" tires.

We have not been able to make it to lacr sense he had got it tuned but we are estimating low 14's and maybe high 13's if the planets are aligned correctly.

Last time we went to the track he did a 15.5 with just the supercharger and no fuel mods, headers or exhaust.

the trd upgrades the fuel for you with a ecu reflash and larger flow injectors..I bet this tc is good for about a mid/low 15 how it sits right now

For $3200 you could have a proper turbo setup.

This surprises me. With a 2.4 liter engine that thing should be quick. Do you think it's just due to poor fuel management?

Although the marketing of their cars has been pretty childish, they should still be just as reliable as any other Toyota. I don't like the boxy XB, but every time I see a TC I think it's a great looking car. What don't you like about them?

I dunno, I drove one and it was a lot of fun. For a normal street car, it's not bad. It would spin the tires from a roll in second gear. I didn't spend any of my own money on it, though. I think we get jaded driving Hondas with aftermarket turbo kits. Remember, the tC still has a factory warranty and passes smog. Maybe I'm just easily amused.
