Default Tapped out my budget...cam gears still needed!

The well has run dry lol....and i still need cam gears.

As much as id love to pick up a nice set of Full Race gears, i dont have the $230+ shipping.

im looking at the Golden Eagle ones...much less. Im wondering if there are any reviews on these? i searched and didnt find anyting relating to WHICH cam gear, just on if you should run them or not.

Golden Eagle?
AEM?
Skunk?

do a search on the appropriate forums and call the 3 companies and ask why their cam gear is better than another. then post up your findings cause i am interested too.

call the companies? im having trouble understanding if you're being sarcastic or not. of course each company is going to say theirs is better than their competitor.

anyone have any first hand experience?

Nothing wrong with AEM, Skunk2, or GE, but I'm planning on picking up a set of golden eagle cam gears because they are the same exact design as the full race gears, and at half the price.

I always wanted a set of ST Corsa cam gears but they went out of business.. I have been using AEM cam gear for years now and never had a problem.. You should be able to pick a set up from ebay for cheap..

As long as the gears dont slip and are made correctly, one gear is gonna make no different then the next. Its just a cam gear. Its not like a full-race gear is gonna make more power then a STR gear.

Just get a high quality gear that you like - or just the stock ones, since 99% of everybody in the world that has aftermarket cam gears dont adjust them.

<== Actually used my cam gears and they are adjusted.

Very true.. If they dont slip then that only other thing to look at is how clear the markings on them are(if your tuning yourself)..

They WILL be used. I go for tuning next month and this is something we will tune for.

ive just read about slippage on a 3bolt style vs a 5bolt style. i was just curious if it was hearsay or actually true

any problems with JG cam gears? if not im going to get them i think....just due to cost. its pretty much a non-mechanical part, its got a 5-bolt design etc.

As long as you don't mind making full degree adjustments they will never slip.
