Default Talon AWD Dyno TODAY!!!!!!

Well i dynoed my all wheel drive 1g talon today...the motor is stock with headstuds and upgraded headgasket and it put down 284 wheel tq and 283 wheel hp .....on a conservative tune....THOUGHT i would share that with honda-tech....i will post a pic of the dyno sheet later....the car has a 20g turbo on 19-20psi...the car should do a low 12 second pass easy....

there is drivetrain loss on awd vehicles

and hes not going to be doing peg-leg burnouts half way down the track like your fwd honda

12sec car too slow of a daily driver to you?

lol 12 second daily driver is a beast especially with 284 tq.....thats enough i mean the 20g really makes power after 20psi...i can turn up with boosy another 5-6 psi and make another 50+whp probably even more...but why sacrifice relibility.

too bad im not a peg leg honda...but thats alright...I didnt say 12's wasnt a good daily driver, i like bigger turbos... and i hate the fact that you have to spin the **** outta dsm turbos to get them to make power. besides the fact...i wasnt criticizing the car...i have no hate for dsm's other than the that owners think they are better than hondas...so thanks...but maybe you should get your facts straight before you start talkin.

Hybrid, what you are saying couldnt be less accurate. Smaller turbo+more boost pressure=broader powerband. Its been proven time and time again. Its just the fact honda owners for whatever reason prefer lots of lag and poor throttle response route. I will say this rule doesnt always apply. If you compare a journal bearing small turbo to a larger BB GT series turbo, there is a good chance the GT series turbo will own the journal bearing turbo. Compare to journal bearing turbos from the same manufacturer, just different sizes, the smaller turbo+more boost=broader powerband will hold true a majority of the time. But put on a bigger turbo because turbo lag>usable powerband.

Im looking to dyno my 20g GSX soon, whats your setup? I would have anticipated higher numbers than that.

Quit making big deals on the drivetrain its a load of crap as far as I'm concerned, it is a small turbo.

yea it was on pump....i can push wayy more easy but why sacrifice reliability on a daily driver....timing wasnt touched....adjustable cam gears were left alone....and it was tuned on an afc.....i dont need more power the car snaps sideways already with all that tq...the car is defiently fast BUT i should have known not to post on hater tech.

Those are some pretty low numbers. I'm expecting to make around 350 whp on conservative tuned, pump gassed 20g.

PS. DSMs can handle over 400whp on stock internals.

Kinda low for a 20G, no? My friends small 16G car made 310whp/325wtq on pump gas IIRC. But he had 2G Pistons, Cams, FMIC, 23psi

Yup, we have a guy that makes ~580whp on a stock bottom end on our dyno. I think that's one of the highest stock block DSMs out there.
