Default T3 vs. T4 S362 ETT turbo K20A2

Im running a borg warner s362 ETT on my k20a2, it comes with a t4 .88 housing but i bought the custom .70 t3 housing for it and have been using that. Spool is great and makes good power (503/356 on 17 lbs) , but would i benefit from switching to the t4 housing with a t4 manifold? Is there any chance the .70 housing is just not big enough and could cause backpressure on high boost? What kind of spool difference am i looking at potentially?

I would like to add that my power goals are set for around 650. It makes awesome power on pump and stock block rite now and within the next few weeks i will be putting pistons and rods and going for more.

Add more boost and you'll hit those numbers as is. Borg Warner ETT turbos are efficient above 25 psi...bump the boost and see what happens because you're barely using it at 17psi. If you still need more from it, then switch housings...i think you're getting a little ahead of yourself.

I agree. The volute size for the T3 .70 version is awesome. Going T4 in any configuration would decrease responsiveness and use, (and no the T4 divided housing is NOT a twin scroll and you'd actually be going backwards)..

Bump up boost pressure (Borgs LOVE pressure, while still keeping IATs down) and see if a change is needed after about 30psi. Anything before that, no need to change.

And they sound pretty sexy too... I drove a truck with an s300v for 3 weeks that ran 40-45 psi.... the sound was just...... ugh lol

Check the back pressure and then decide????
If it is to high switch. I do like the t4 housings better than the T3 style you have.

At the levels of power he's trying to do, he won't need to change housings. Back pressure on these on a honda are almost nill for 500whp -620whp..

Welcome back, haus
