Default t3 on greddy mani

Like the tittle says. I want to finish my turbo kit but I live in cali and the emissions here are crazy. So I want to make mine look like a greddy kit and make it pass smog. I do know where to get it done the non legit way but what if i get sent to the ref? So is it possible or is there any other way to make my turbo pass smog? ( i know i can always buy a carb sticker) also its for a 99 ek d16y8. thanks in advance!

Your best bet is to just keep your stock stuff and swap it back on for smog. I actually did smog my Y8 twice when I was running my turbo on it, but smog stations are getting more strict these days. The place I used to go to was just some random mechanic/smog shop and they never sweated me much for CARB EO's or anything. This was with a Drag Gen I kit. A couple months back I had to smog again, but this time it was with my B18B swap, and I had to go to a test-only facility which is supposedly supposed to be even more strict. Anyway, the guy there didn't even notice that it was the wrong engine for the car, and that the block and tranny VINs didn't match the chassis. He just checked and doublechecked the CARB EO's on the AEM intake and GReddy header I was running at the time and proceeded with the roller test. You may have similar luck with smog station personel, but I would still save your stock stuff to throw on if you need to.
