switch from all motor B20Vtec to a B16 turbo?
well, my buddies have gone turbo, and now they got me wanting to go to the dark side, so...
i can get a pretty much BRAND new B16 block with CTR pistons in it for trade for my B20B block with JE 11.5.1 pistons. Is this a smart choice to switch to the B16? my B20 is torquie as a mother, and hauls some ***.... but a turbo B16....
what do you think?

compression will be a little high (10.8:1)... but it could be done. turbo R's make great power. Try to see if you could get USDM ITR pistonsput in.. that'd put you at 9.7:1, which is badass.

I would just turbo the B20 and run stand alone of Hondata.. You can run higher compression like yours with boost-- you just have to have it tuned more carefully..
Good luck-- I'd stick with the torque and then add more torque on top of that..

higher revs(for sure) with high comp on the stock b20 sleeves is already pushing those weaksauce sleeves..add some boost and a ping here..maybe there and [homer]KABLAAMO[/homer]
Sounds like youve invested a lot in the b20. you sure you want boost..and just cause your friends are doing it? Why not stick it out and try to beat them n/a!
but if you insist on boosting. DONT use your b20.
GO with the b16. or even so. sell the b20 set up and buy an ls (or b16..whatever is cheaper)set up and youll easily have money to slightly build(pistons and rods) the motor and get your set up together.
youll be laughing.

I'll trade you my b16 block for your b20 block....
just keep the b20 swap the pistons out for some je's and boost it...if it was me thats what i'd do..keep the compression between 9.5:1 and 10.5:1.....i'm at 10.2:1 ......

Boost that B20. Just watch your compression and don't over-rev it

how much boost is the guy with the b20 running........??? i'm gonna be finishin my swap this week and lookin to figure out what i can run on a stock b20z shiftin it at around 6500, according to what i've learned so far they will last at around 8psi, and there is a guy running one at 8psi, with an afc that runs 12.50......

210 is that whp??? or just hp?? i had a stock b16 that never hit a dyno........it blew up cause i was an idiot. but it was supposed to make like 250whp on 10psi.......and that was on fmu.......shouldnt' a b20vtec make more hp??? was his motor built or just b20 w/ vtec head?

If I had the b20 and were going to go FI id do a jackson on it that way you know your safe. you should have no problems hitting the 250WHP mark and its safe as hell. Also you will make a hell of alot of torque. Plus the upside to the whole thing is you should be able to find a used on for under $1500 way cheaper than a b16 with a turbo and it would take one hell of a built b16 turbo to beat a SC b20vtec
