Swapping out my S2S1 cams for OEM GSR cams...ok to stay with the S2 valvesprings?
Hi guys,
It's been a long time since I've been in the FI forum, and I think I'll be here a lot more since I decided to ditch NA and go turbo. I was gonna do a NA buildup on my CRX w/ JDM GSR, but I saw a good deal on the Rev hard kit that I couldn't pass up.
Anyways, one of the first things I gotta do is swap out my Skunk2 stage 1 cams for some OEM GSR cams. But I just needed to know if I'll have any problems with the OEM GSR cams and Skunk2 valvesprings (OEM valves & retainers). Will this lead to premature wear of the cams, or will I be fine?
TIA

i would keep the s2s1 because they are just a bit more agressive than ITR cams. Worst case situation they dont make power then sell then, and i would keep the valve springs, a good insurance policy on those high rpm trips.

Thanks for the input guys. One of the reasons I would want to sell the S2S1 cams is to make a little extra money. I could probably get a used set of GSR cams for $50-$75, and sell the S2S1 cams for around $350-$400.

Hey guys, I need some info ASAP on using B16A2 cams instead of B18C1 cams. Everybody says that B18C1 cams are more aggressive, but I assume they mean for NA. Would it make that much of a difference for me to run B16A2 cams instead of B18C1 cams in my turbo JDM B18C-SirG?
somebody please let me know right away

b16a cams suck, go gsr, there is a post about how the switch from b16a to itr on a turbo b16a gained like 40 hp

Thanks for the info man...The guy was selling the cams for only $40, so I figured I could get those cams and swap out my S2S1 cams and sell them to make some money. I guess I'll only trade the stage 1's for GSR cams then, but just not ITR cams.
Thanks

Yeah, dont go with the b16 cams. Like people said above, if money permits go with the ITR cams. And for future reference you want to use the 97-99 spec ITR cause the 00'+ and CTR have 3 degrees more duration than the 97-99's. If you gotta go with the gsr then you should be ok, they are a great oem turbo cam as well. I have a gsr intake cam for sale
