Default Swapping exhaust housings

I picked up a nice garrett ball bearing turbo, and I'm told its a gt35r. I'm not totally sure though. I just know its a .70ar cold side, with a 1.15 twin scroll t4 exhaust side. My goals are to see 550-600whp out of an h22. I belive the exhaust housing is still too big, and I want to swap it out for a smaller housing.

Without knowing exactly what turbo this is, how do I go about finding a sutiable exhaust housing? I'd like to spool this turbo one day.

on the other hand you should be fine with that housing as long as you use a twinscroll manifold.

unless you are building a race car deff get rid of that. if its a street car look for a .63-82a/r
and pend on the works thats been already you will see spool between 43-5500rpm.
as far the turbo gose some picks would help? dose it have oil and water lines and some more info on the motor would help, but good luck

Yes, It has oil and water lines. It is ball bearing for sure. I will try to get some pics and measurements of it tonight/tommorow. I cannot find any part numbers or info on it, other than it has a q trim turbine wheel.

PICS PICS PICS. also measure the turbine and comp wheels would help.

stick to an .82 hotside for that H22. breathes better up top and you have the displacement to spool the turbo. I run .82 with stage 5 turbine wheel and have no troubles spooling with a stock bore 89mm stroked GSR

Ok, got some pics and measurements.

I was told that this turbo had been rebuilt with stage 5 wheels. It defiantly has been rebuilt. On the inside of the compressor housing it has Q trim engraved on it.

I just have no experiance trying to identify a turbo. I just know that the 1.15ar housing will not fly.

This again is going to be on a t4 divided manifold, with a power goal of 600-700 whp (in the future). As of right now, It's going on a stock block f22, just because I havent found any solid info as to where and how they break.

Doing a little more research, and i'm kind of confused. The q trim exhaust wheel is upposed to have a 2.693 exducer (check, I'm at 2.687) and a 3.111 major... (no check, I'm at 2.922)... The P trim has a 2.544 exducer (not good for me, again i'm at 2.687) but with a 2.922 major, and I'm spot on there.

the 3.111-2.922= .189 of extra clearance, or roughly .0945 of wheel per side not there. If I pick up a standard q housing, am I going to be missing out on a quicker spool? I know I cant just slap on a P housing though.

Maybe would it be best to get a .84 P housing and have it bored out to fit the 2.69 exducer? Or is this too trivial, and I would be ok with a standard Q housing?

best bet is send the turbo to a garrett dealer or precision and have them put a housing on it. wont really cost m,uch more than just buying one and you will get exactly what you need.IMO

Ok, this is an older Turbonetics turbo. I called Turbonetics, and they were helpfull untill they realized they couldnt sell me a part. Apparently all I could find out is the exhaust housing required for this turbo was discontinued 3 years ago. Turbonetics could tell me that i was **** out of luck, and were out of stock on a discontinued part, but they wouldn't help me out with a part number so I could try and find it somewhere else. That's borderline ignorant. They also wouldn't help me out with a specification on the turbine to housing clearance spec.

So, here I am again... Needing an exhaust housing. I've searched and searched. I'm hoping someone can help me out or know by any chance what I need.

Looking for a .84 t4 devided v-band prefered housing with a 2.922 inducer and 2.687mm exducer.
