Swap + a question (56k, odubt it)
As some of you may know, this motor/tranny have been giving me alot of issues. It finally went in this weekend, and it fought us every step of the way.
Gsr motor, gsr crank pulley, gsr alternator, gsr alternator belt doesnt work (too long), had to go to 3 places to get a belt that would work.
The other big problem was with the intermediate shaft. It would slide nicely into the tranny, but when we went to bolt it up, it was hitting the block, as in, it would not rotate and be flat against the block. Its hard to explain it, but i had to grind the block down about 1/4" to get it to fit. I got it as smooth/flat as possible and bolted it down tight with a washer setup.
My question is, should this be ok? The shaft spins freely without binding and is very smooth. and yes, this is with a gsr intermediate shaft.
This is all the shavings:
And the best pics i could get with my sucky camera:
I felt so bad putting a fram filter on it, only till i get it running...
Should that be okay?
Anyway heres some pics from the rest of the day:
Action 2md- ready to take some abuse... hopefully
Hopefully i can get it started tonight. Got a few more things to do, and have to find the damn starter.... In another thread i asked if the d and b starters were the same, i was told no. But im just wondering why the autozone part numbers are the same?!?!
Anyway, thanks for looking and any replys, comments would be

Re: (Blaze45)
"it came out of a 5 speed 95 gsr". Well the grinding on the block is already done, so hopefully this works out and doesnt cause any more problems...

Re: (adictionbass)
loooks damn good! Thats cool that you lifted the car itself over the motor. Was it easier than straight dropping the motor in?

Re: (BoostedEG6)
thanks guys. Picking the car up sliding the motor under, and dropping the car down went farily smooth. When you go in from the top, you have to worry about getting around that tranny mount spot on the frame.

Re: Swap + a question (BoostedEG6)
well what im thinking is that he may have bolted the auto intermediate shaft to the block straight. I could do that, but it wound bind the shaft and it wouldnt spin at all. I can see how that would break a diff. Anyone know if auto and 5 spd axles are the same?
