Survivability of a mildly built Ls in DE/Auto-x
Alright I'm still in the planning stages of a turbo build-up for a b18a1.
Planned setup: forged rods and pistons w/blockguard rebuilt bottom and top end with later model oil pump, most likely a precision sc34 (maybe sc60) running around 6 on the street, and 11 on the track, oil cooler, 440cc dsm injectors with afc hack and modified timing curve on the ecu, and 93 octane.
I have never and don't plan to drag race this car, it would only be a street car that I daily drive and take to the track about once a month.
Will this set-up be able to withsand the abuse of a monthly DE/TT or would I end up having a car that's gonna be constantly trying to self-destruct.
Any insight or simular setup's and experiences would help.

you didn't mention an intercooler or compression ratio of your pistons....
you also didn't mention your suspension setup... if it just peg-legs and spins the inside tire the whole time your racing then it won't be doing any good...

Oops, I'm gonna go with 9:1 compression, and as for the intercooler, it will be a air to air that can handle output of the turbo at 11psi with a 25% buffer zone.
Suspension I'm not worried about, I've already got that covered.
I'm just worried that this setup won't last 6 months under these conditions.

Re: (Stubbs)
since i can't speak of first hand experiance doing such racing i don't want to waste your time but i will say that, imo, 9:1 would be what I would choose and aas for my question regarding an interecooler... i just wanted to make sure you were intercooling it since i have seen quite a few people run similar setups without ic'ing. have you got an LSD? that's the last thing i could suggest to help you unfortunatly.
-Erik <--- who just thought of cooling... I'd HIGHLY suggest a Fluidyne or C&R radiator...
