I am curious how many add some kind of additional support for their turbo besides the exhaust bolts in the head?

I would appreciate even just a YES or NO would be great.

(P.S...I am adding a T3/T4 on a honda civic. )

Or like a helm joint? Dynamotorsports uses those. But those really are used for full race and circuit applications.

I just mounted a T3/T4 on an R18 engine. I welded up a very stout adapter using 1/2" stainless plate and 3/16" wall. I am not at all concerned about the adater, I am just wondering if the 4 x 8mm exhaust bolts will hold up bearing the 22 lbs of turbo. Or if I need to mock up some sort of weight bearing support arm to take the load off of those exhaust bolts.

For me, it would be very helpful if I knew if most guys just hang the turbos off the exhaust bolts, or it they mock up some sort of additional support...

Most of us go off of the studs/nut setup. Nothing that special, unless it's for a special purpose

OK, Thanks. Just wondering. I do see some with support but like you said seems like that might be the exception, not the norm....
