Supercharging my 2013 GE8 Fit Sport 5AT
Hey guys! Haven't been on here in quite a while due to work. I have some awesome news to share though. Yesterday morning I forked out the cash and ordered a Sprintex supercharger kit for my 2013 Fit Sport.
I am incredibly excited, and cannot wait for the kit to show up. I am apprehensive about giving up that factory warranty, but sometimes "you gotta do what you gotta do" haha
I will post up some pictures of the kit as soon as it arrives. I expect it to show up middle to end of next week. I am currently leaning towards having RPM Extreme in Birmingham install the kit. Jon quoted me a fair price, and with my car being so new I would hate to attempt it myself and mess anything up (Especially since I still owe a TON of money on the vehicle).
Wish me luck! I'm hoping for 99-00 civic si like performance. Anything will be better than the electric wheelchair acceleration I currently have.
Stay tuned!

Just received tracking from Gary Turner at Sprintex and it should be here Tuesday! If any of you guys were contemplating a power adder for your GE fit I highly recommend this. Gary has been incredibly helpful with any questions I have had through the decision process. Great company.

I don't believe it would hold up to more than 200hp. I think even at that it would need a trans cooler. Fortunately with this particular setup I will only be around 150-160hp which should be no problem. Fingers cross lol. I will let you guys know how it goes. So far Sprintex's test car which is also an Auto with paddle shifters and they haven't had any issues. It has been installed and running for about 25k miles I believe.

and now it is complete. Runs great with zero hiccups or CEL. If you guys are interested in doing this or have any questions please feel free to ask. The full install along with troubleshooting a few issues I had took about 8 hours using all hand tools.

I've been lurking looking at some of the installs at FF, how's it drive now compared to before? How much was it shipped to your door?

Re: Supercharging my 2013 GE8 Fit Sport 5AT
no matter how you slice it, this looks like a fun daily driver. I bet the increase in low rpm torque makes all the difference in the world.
we had a smart42 that we put an intake, exhaust, sprint booster (i strongly suggest you get one for your Fit... changes throttle response night and day, it feels like it's a cable throttle and not DBW) on and did a tune... fun little car, people would get so confused when they got passed by a smart car doing 80 lol
from the looks of it this kit is the b series JRSC equivalent.. albeit using much more efficient supercharger technology. I'm assuming since it's a low boost kit that it isn't intercooled? the picture on their site doesn't look like the supercharger manifold has any intercooling built in
also, what was used to tune the car?

It is not intercooled unfortunately but as you said being such low boost it's not really necessary. My plans are an intake, full exhaust, maybe header, throttle controller, and a new tune.
As I am sure you know the stock fit is exceptionally slow... this kit definitely livens it up and makes it much more fun to drive. Its not good "line up and drag race" type of power, but more of blasting through twists and turns of a mountain road kind of power.
I have Function & Form type 2 coilovers on it and it is a blast through the twisty style mountain roads.
It was $3018 to my door and the only thing I bought extra for the install was new spark plugs (one step colder Autolites) and a USB cable to run from the piggyback in the engine bay to inside the cabin. I did this so I could hook up my laptop for tuning and monitoring and datalogging.
Also I will say all of my interactions with Gary Turner at Sprintex have been A+. This company is doing a good job of customer service. Also the distributor I bought from was Jon at RPM Extreme in Birmingham and his service has been spot on as well.

The tune is a piggyback by PerfectPower called an SMT8L unit. Comes pretuned for a stock GE8 after the addition of the kit. Mine seems to be running great. I plan on datalogging sometime this week to see how close the tune is that the unit shipped with.

Re: Supercharging my 2013 GE8 Fit Sport 5AT
sounds like a well thought out package and it seems your fit is tastefully modified and very functional.
I also agree, this isn't really a straight line setup. It's more of a have fun on twisty roads setup, especially with the modifications you've already done and plan to do. I can tell you though the sprint booster will change how the car feels and behaves almost as much as the supercharger lol.
the low end grunt this kit produces would make your car a formidable mountain run car... I'm a little jealous lol.
plus I think the supercharger fits the characteristics of the 1.5l motor to a t, as we all know it produces no top end power but for it's size does make decent midrange and I'm sure the supercharger only makes it better but really it is the low end that really benefits here, because it's that low end torque that pulls you out of a corner

Yes I can say I am very pleased with my decision to go with this kit as well as my suspension. I also did oem window visors and oem all weather floor mats (both very practical for me haha). Could you link me to the sprint booster you speak of so I can check it out?

they are fairly cheap and the new models come with a remotely mounted button where you can cycle between the different throttle profile options (3 I think IIRC)

Appreciate the link brother. Is there any specific reason you would recommend this particular one over any other brands? Or is it just the only one you are familiar with?
I have never used a throttle controller before as I have never owned a drive by wire until now, but as you said I've heard it truly does make a difference.

Re: Supercharging my 2013 GE8 Fit Sport 5AT
I have firsthand experience with their products, the quality and ease of installation are great. remember, this modifies the electrical signal to the throttle body, you don't want some cut rate, China copy part that could potentially fail and injure or kill you and others.
they are regarded as the best in the market.. they have great customer service and the warranty is great too
regarding your fit, I would call them.. as I doubt Honda changed the DBW system over the years... more than likely still the same throttle pedal. so they might be able to get you a model that will work.

I will definitely give them a call or shoot them an email. Thanks sir.
To report back I have driven about 50 miles now both in auto and paddle shift mode and have had no issues. I'm ready to start ordering more parts and then get a new tune. If only I had a money tree lol

Re: Supercharging my 2013 GE8 Fit Sport 5AT
Sprintex is an Australian company so they don't have their kits carb tested so it's not carb approved.
Almost the same thing with the kraftwerks Rotrex kits, only the k series kits are carb approved.
due to the newer, tougher emissions standards set forth by the EPA and CARB it's getting harder and harder to get performance parts to pass the CARB approval process so most companies don't have their products tested.
Only most of the popular big name companies have a large enough following and the initial funds to allow for carb testing and they know that once they get a CARB approval people will start purchasing their product in California (which is where most aftermarket parts businesses make the bulk of their yearly profit in terms of parts sales)
