1997 Supercharged Acura Integra GSR
233 WHP......163 Ft. Lbs on the Jackson FMU!!! Soon to be tuned on hondata Nice Numbers!! |
you can get a vacuum source anywhere after the throttle body, don't spend your money on the cobalt autometer a/f guage, since your spending that much, get a wideband, probably be just a bit more

Re: (PrettyLude)
Well I already bought it, but i am planning on getting one, i just got hondata s200b, so i plan to tune on that, and then get one, but i have it so, im going to go ahead and put it in, ok, cool, so anywhere after the throttle body? as in tword the intake manifold right? <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 98JRSChatch »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">1997 Supercharged Acura Integra GSR

Re: (eg6hatch)
What pulley are you running?
Just tap the FPR. |
Re: (Rory Breaker)
I am running the 8 pound pulley, the FPR, please explain!!!!
|
Just Tee into the hose between the FPR and the intake manifold. I took a piece of rubber hose just slightly bigger than the nylon hose supplied w/ the autometer units and glued it to the end of the nylon hose. Then I slipped the rubber hose over the Tee.

Re: (crxrocks)
Right. You can also get a little adapter from pep boys. Just slide the nylon into one end, cut the fpr vac line, tee it, and slide the other end of the adapter onto the tee.

Re: (Rory Breaker)
i took that black plug thing off the back of the manifold.

just any vacuum source man!
they'll all show you the same boost. the line going off the top of the fpr is vacuum any port off of the back of the intake mani will be vacuum... basically, hoses only carry 3 things, air, water, and fuel.. dont get water or fuel and ur cool, haha |

cool thats what i needed to know, thanks alot man https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (eg6hatch)
Thanks for the help guys, and hopefully this will hopefully help first time boost gauge installers like me later https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (eg6hatch)
As long as you're running the FMU, you can tap into the FPR for your boost signal. Once you switch over to Hondata, you will no longer be showing boost to your FPR, so you will need to tap off the back of the manifold to get your boost signal.

Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Jaker)
My boost guage is tapped on the FPR and I run Hondata.
|
Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Rory Breaker)
Are you still using the FMU?
|
Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Jaker)
Who in their right mind would have anything to do with an FMU with Hondata? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Yes i am running the FMU, waiting on my hondata ECU but i have the s200b at my house! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Rory Breaker »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Who in their right mind would have anything to do with an FMU with Hondata? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif</TD></TR></TABLE> HUH???? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif |
the fmu completely contradicts hondata.

I guess my question is: why do you want your FPR to see boost if you're using Hondata? Wouldn't your map sensor, and proper tuning take care of getting the extra fuel into the motor without taking the chance of blowing your FPR with boost? |
Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Jaker)
Your FPR still functions with Hondata....Im not making it do anything it already doesnt do. Im just tapping into it. If I see boost, I see boost. Im assuming that vacuum line is like any other vacuum line at the manifold, it sees boost.
|
Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Rory Breaker)
I'm running my FPR off vacuum from the bypass valve housing, just like the bypass valve actuator. That area never sees boost. Its before the blower.
|
Re: Supercharged Boost Gauge install question? (Jaker)
My FPR is run as stock, although I dont remember where I had it tapped with the JRSC, but I did have my boost guage tapped off the FPR with the blower as well.
If your FPR line hasnt been changed, you should be seeing boost tapping into that source. |
