Supercharged b16a ticking at full throttle
This is my problem, or what seems to be a problem. When at 75%-100% throttle or heavy load a ticking noise seems to be coming from my engine bay area, and I’m almost positive its not valve train noise. The ticking noise started after I installed the DSM 450cc injectors with the Honda resistor box, not sure if that helps with my question? I’m thinking my problem might be detonation and yes my timing is retarded 7 degrees.
My setup is: JDM b16a swap into a 93 Honda Del Sol S, Jackson racing supercharger with 8psi pulley, dsm 450’s, Walbro 255, and managed with safc and other bolt-on’s.
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, mike

DSM's do have noisy injectors, but I have only heard them @ idle, moreso with the hood open. Did you tune it with a wideband? Get some real engine management on there and have it tuned.

So my problem could possibly be solved (ticking noise) when I go to get it tuned? Any other suggestions on what the ticking noise may be?

Well, if it is detonation then yes, it should not do it after tuning if it is tuned properly. In the meantime, DON'T BOOST ON IT! It could also be your injectors and in that case the ticking would not go away.
