supercharge or turbocharge my b20?
should i supercharger or turbocharge my b20? another thing is i have a port polish ls head on it right now, should i go vtec or just stay away from the headache . does vtec even give you that much more hp when you boost it? i know the vtec head flows better but i hear it dont matter if your boostin since you cramming the air in and push through instead of trying to pull it in and push through. what are your thoughts?

I've heard the same thing about vtec not being that useful for boost. Its a myth as far as I'm concerned. All you need to do is look to examine the theory behind vtec: the ability to switch to a bigger lobe to flow more air in and out of the combustion chambers will allow for more power, its that simple.
HOWEVER, you don't want to run any overly aggressive cams, like Skunk2 stage2's or Toda B's. Obviously the longer duration and lift of these cams causes the valve overlap to be way too long for boost.
With that being said, boosting a non-vtec head is like running on the normal lobe all the time. Nothing wrong with that. Only, if you DID have vtec, you're just able to produce more power at the changeover than if you didn't have it at all.
A turboed b20vtec is probably one of the most powerful types of honda motors you can build, other than a boosted h23vtec but I hear those have waaaay too many probs, and big turboed v6's of course.

I read alot of posts saying the b20 sleeves are notorious for cracking. Do some searches on boosting the b20, you'll find several regarding the achilles heal of that block. Go turbo, people I've talked to that supercharged want to change to turbo. I'd get a b18a and sleeve it to 84 mm, get billet rods and pistons. If it's in the budget, use a vtec head (ctr, itr, b18c1, or b16a head, first being best). My vtec switch point is about 4500 rpm and pulls considerably harder in vtec. If you insist on using your block at least add a block guard and better head studs like aebs or arp.

I'm a supercharger guy, but when it comes to the B20, I say turbo the **** out of it.
Unless you can find an M62 blower from the ITR jrsc kit. The manifold changes are pretty simple to do, and the amount of power generated is awesome.
I doubt that either method of boost will leave you upset.
