I spoke with a moderator on the last locked post and he suggested I start a new one and he said he'd keep an eye on this one for any flaming, so lets keep it clean. I in return made a less inflammatory title...Though, I do have to say I find it ironic that if the title of the other post had said ,"HKS knockoff, or Greddy knockoff turbo manifold", no one would have had a problem.

Ok-back on topic-

Im making some long runner, equal length headers very similar to the one on that was pictured on the JoTech civic a month or so ago here on Honda Tech. The two middle runners will come over the top and the two outside ones will go under the middle runners and into the colloctor area. As in Super T's other manifolds, it will be made of 321 stainless steel. I should have the first ones ready in about two weeks give or take. Price range will be 600-700 as I have not finalized actual production time yet to determine price. They will not work with A/C as this style manifold directly centers the turbine in between the two middle exhaust ports. It should be a very clean production with a minimum of welds...

Dave is a good guy....This manifold he is mentioning has pretty long runners, not like the one pictured in Seth's car. Seth has teh street version, which overlaps.

He might tack with a mig but everything is done with TIG. I have one of his pieces and it is very high quailty welds - inside and out

Everyone just ignore this guy and do not respond to him or egg him on, I reported him to a mod and they are watching him...do a search and you'll see hes been trolling my last 5 or 6 posts with some pretty derogative posts...he's entitled to his opinions, so let him post them, but dont respond back, we really dont need to encourage this sort of behavior...

and along the lines of MIG, the only MIG that is done is on the inside of the turbine flange area to reduce the volume area and to double weld(mig inside, tig outside) the collector area for strength and so that the exhaust pulses dont come out of the pipes and hit a larger volume area and slow down and subsequently stack up...All turbes and outside of the collector area and head flange area are tacked with MIG and then 100% TIG welded with 347 rod.

don't take this as a flame, i am serious with this question but it could be seen as a flame. i remember awhile ago you were saying that your manifold was better than geoff's because the air "waves" or whatever hit into eachother making more speed, and geoff said his was better because the air never met any resistance with the other runners with his straight out design. what made you change your mind on your stand on things? again, im not flaming you in any way.

Didn't take it as a flame...not sure what you mean though, could you provide a link to the thread? I think you are talking about the collector design one...I never said mine was superior to anyones, only said that when using a garrett turbo with their small openings, pointing the runners inward may have some benefits opposed to having them come straight down and the exhaust bouncing off the shelf...is that what you are referring to?

Tig is generally considered more precise and more controllable, thus stronger...but MIG is much quicker at filling in then is TIG, its more of a process efficiency thing...

You ever tried to get a tig tip inside a collector flange AND see what the hell you're doing PLUS feed rod in? LOL It's next to if not, completely impossible!!!

Mig is very strong, as well, Super T Seems like the kind of person that is tedious in his work, as well as the FF (geoff etc.) guys, who are all great!

What mid does is, produce more "weld" material, so it fills the gap easier. While tig can make bigger welds like mig, its a lot harder and uses tons of filler. Mig would probaly be the only option in this area.
