Suggestions Needed:EG4 stock D15B-Engine upgrade options?
Hey guys I'm new here and I currently have a Honda civic eg4 with the stock d15b in it ATM but I'm looking to upgrade my engine to get more speed and to turbo it, I'm only looking for 200-240hp ATM I want a basic setup and only have small mods going in after the turbo and engine, I mainly want it for fast off the mark and short raves mane 1k or so Max. Only want to spend 1k-1.5k max on the engine alone not including the mods, so I guess at I'm asking in short is WATS the best engine for a eg4 with a stock d15b in it, to hit 200-230hp after turbo without spending more then 1.5k for engine, thanks everyone

Paul. Engine prices are extremely sensitive to region of the world. What may be inexpensive in one region may be more expensive in another (Please put your country/Province in your screenname so no one has to guess). You have to look at the purpose of this upgrade, your mechanical inclination and ability to perform the swap, resources available in your area, and what engine management you plan to use. We can't have a conversation of each and every question for each person to answer. It makes for a boring forum , and you really don't learn what you need to do.. (Neither will others).
Do yourself a favor, give us more detail about where you are, and start researching places to look for these engines in that price range. In the U.S., $1500 isn't the best to work with for ANY B-series engine right now. But it depends upon the regional market. What's $!500 for a B18B1 in one area, may be double or half that amount somewhere else. Hell, that may not include engine loom or ECU. (Guys, please don't state what you paid for an engine in your area, because that's hardly the point here... )
If you're limited in budget for any of this. Double your budget, then start asking.

B18B would be the best bang for the buck IMO. Engines are pretty plentiful, well priced and would be an easy swap into your chassis. You can pretty much bolt a basic turbo setup to the B18B and meet your goal with room to grow in the future if you ever need it.
Like Shodan said, we need more info on what the best motor setup would be for you.
