Suggestions Needed: correct size/type Injectors for 600whp B-series turbo

Hey guys, looking to add some more power to my build. 98 integra, Sleeved/built 84x89mm, pte6266, Walbro 450, precision 780cc peak and hold injectors. The injectors are safely maxed out at 415whp and I want to get atleast another 100hp out of it. This is 100% street car tuned on pump. What injectors would be recommended? Size and brand. Planning on going back with peak and hold style injectors btw.

Thanks

I've found that on pump/race gas running larger than 1600cc causes idle/part-throttle driveability issues. Sure 2200cc's work, but 1650s are much more "streetable". I recommend modern ev14 style high impedance injectors, it's what all the cool kids are running these days.

1000cc EV14 (high impednace) based injectors are more than enough for your needs. FIC1000/ID1000/FiveO Bosch 1000cc

I don't doubt any of your guys answers at all but why is it that whenever I have asked different tuners the same question, they all always say 2000cc or higher? don't quote me on this one but based on the high hp setups that I have seen in person (friends or people at car meets) is that they get a max 480whp-500whp on 93 pump gas. If they want to go over 500whp they will need to run e85 or higher? I texted my tuner last week because I want to start on my new project of 600 whp, and this word by word what he said " ID or FIC 2000c, walbro 450 e85 pump, relay on pump, -8 fuel line to rail stock return with aem bolt in fpr, and inline fuel filter.

so should I stick with 1000cc or 2000cc? now I am confused.

Less injector duty cycle is always a good thing. Like Liam said though, going in excess can cause drivability issues on a street car.

2000cc seems like overkill for 93 octane, possibly even E85 (are you using 93 or E85?). I like the idea of using 1500->1700cc injectors for your goal, once again EV14/Bosch style.

For 600 to the wheels 1000cc would be thinner than I personally would like to see. I avoid any setup that may put the injector peak duty above ~90%.

Yeah it will be tuned on e85 but I have also heard that is good to pump 93 octane every 5 to 6 tanks just to lubricate the fuel lines when going on full e85. For example I have a friend with a teg making 522whp on e85 but every 5 to 6 tanks he goes back to 93 pump and his power drops to 475whp.

Your logic is correct. For E85, what you've stated here, yes. For other petroleum based fuels including race fuels, 1000cc is more than fine

He may be doing that because he is using fuel lines that aren't Ethanol or Ethyl Alcohol-friendly. These "pump E85" fuels (or anything using some sort of alcohol) are highly corrosive to your fuel lines, and if your friend stores the car for months at a time, has to purge the E85 out of fuel system to keep that fuel from possibly corroding the fuel tank (depending upon the material. If it's OEM, it's not that friendly to it over time).

All the tuners you're talking to are looking at drag racing, and drag racing only. Not a combination of drag and street use, where practicality is key. Even a good 1000cc EV14 using E85 with the correct fuel pump wouldn't be at 90% duty cycle at "full-tilt" yet. Even a Bosch Injector, when too large, can cause idling and fuel use issues. This is why the 2200cc idea is just, WAY overkill. Keep it a bit lower, get an E85 Friendly fuel pump, the right size and content fuel lines and (if possible a flex fuel sensor) and keep going.

One of the main reasons why I just won't use the stuff. Too many other things to change out when you do it.. Just for E85, when you're not using it all the time for that one guy you "have to get" once in a while.

If someone is shooting for over 600whp on E85 I would suggest something bigger than ID1000's. If you are shooting for 500whp on E85, ID1000's would be fine.

I would co-sign that. Much simpler the way you put it, sir. :)

You wont make 600whp on 1000s and E85 period. Unless you are jamming 80psi rail pressure at idle through them

Yup I figured that would be the case, I will need something way bigger than 1000s

If you are planning on making more than 600whp and running E85 I would just get ID2000's.

Yeah when I was on E85 and ID1000's making over 600whp I had my pressure turned all the way up. I moved to the ID2000's and they worked perfect, at about 900whp I ended up moving to 8 ID2000's. But for what you are shooting for 4 ID2000's will be perfect.

Yeah, I'm just old. I'm just used to making 600whp without going over 1000cc. Oh well. I need to check my BSFC math
