Strengthening a High-Mileage Motor
Thing is, I'm quitting my sucky job, and getting another sucky, yet more bearable job, as a delivery guy (I love driving, so it's all good). I know this will put the miles on my car, but I will have $300-$600 a month to spend towards whatever. Since I will be putting some good miles on my car, before I turbo it during the summer, what can I do to get as close to as good as new condition? Thanks! Also, could someone inform me of any checks or tests I could have done at the shop to tell me what condition my engine is in?

K well first thing is first goto your local mechanic and ask for a leak down/comprsion test. This will help you determine if your moto would be ood for boost. If numbers arent that good then build it. If numbers are decent then boot on it stock untill you can afford buildup. Buildup consists of rods/pistons/sleeved thats preety much it. Good luck

Re: Strengthening a High-Mileage Motor (TurboSohc)
So say I got up to about 100k miles, and I got the oil leak down test and compression test. And I would just have to get pistons/rods/resleeving? Thanks!
