Street Turbo Driving Characteristics
I'm researching for my turbo build, for this questions purposes lets assume I have a stock GSR with ITR cams. Power goal is between 315-365whp.
I want to know from your experiance what the difference will be in street driving characteristics between the following turbos:
Garrett 57 trim with .48a/r exhaust housing
Garrett 57 trim with .63a/r exhaust housing
GT3076
I'm looking for torque band and response characteristics. When power would come on and where it would probably level off in the rev range. I know some info could be taken from the compressor maps of these but I'm not proficient at reading them YET. TheShodan has given me some guidance but I don't want to bother him directly if I don't have to because I know he is a busy guy.
Thoughts?

IMO i would get a gt35R. i have a stock gsr (81k miles) +stock gsr IM + ITR cams + gt35 r @ 10psi and it put down 340hp ON PUMP GAS like it was not even trying. gt35r is yes a bigger turbo, but for my purposes im more than happy with how it is putting out just my .02 cents

Re: Street Turbo Driving Characteristics
Exactly, I'd like to know which is going to be the most responsive. More geared toward quick spool and response. But I don't want one that will fall on it's face at 8000rpm. I'm trying to get one that will MEET my power goals(does not need to exceed), but also have the optimal response(read spool if you want). Another one I was looking at was the GT28rs but I don't want to spend $1100 if a 57 trim will get me what I want.

Both the gt28rs and gt3076 are going to spool up an recover quicker than the 57 trim. The 30r also has the capability to make more power at any given boost level. The gt28rs will be pushed somewhat hard of meeting your goals of 365whp but will be the most responsive. There wouldn't be any room to grow with it. The gt30r offers excellent response on the stock motor and room to grow in the future.

Re: Street Turbo Driving Characteristics
I have built a few cars with G2871Rs and they are very good, but a little limiting. The GT30 is also a good choice, both would work well, just expensive. I have a 57 trim with a mini-log on my car right now, and was amazed at the response i got with it. A lot better than i was expecting. Full boost by 3k-3.5k and pulls fine. I think for the price of the turbo, it is great for a <400 whp setup street setup.

First of all, the GT35R should not even be a consideration for your goals. That's just ridiculous to suggest it. I hate setups where people run 6psi because the turbo is so grossly oversized.
Anyway, you have a pretty good list of turbos already. If money is a concern, i would just pick up the 57 trim and have fun. That turbo will easily do what you want and more. If you have a little more to blow, the GT3255 series offered by TheShodan is another great option. I had the GT3255b and on 10.5psi on my stock GSR, i made 315whp/216wtq. That turbo has since been passed on to my tuner who made over 400whp on it and gobs of torque.
My final suggestion would be the S256 or GT3076r. I personally run the S256 and love it. I haven't ever run a 30R, but the numbers are very comparable. The nice thing about the S256 is that you can rebuild it if/when something happens AND you dont have to fuss with running extra water lines to the turbo. Its simply an oil feed and oil drain then you're good to go. Also, if you want either my GT3255b graph or S256, just PM me and i'll get them to you. Its always nice to have a concrete comparison before buying

Re: Street Turbo Driving Characteristics
^^^ good advice. i have a GSR motor with pistons/rods/9.8CR and run a 57 trim now and make 285whp of the OPs power goals at 10psi. It'll definitely meet the OPs power goals and is a great bang for the buck. the 57 trim spools pretty good for me (3.5kish or so).
next year i want to upgrade though and I was looking at the 3076...but if the s256 is rebuildable and performs comparably i might go that route. i'll have to look into that some more...
