Strange whisteling noise
I finally installed my JRSC on my R. Runs pretty good for factory ECU & no tuning but I hear this whistle just about the time I go into boost. Is this the throttle body doing this or maybe the bypass valve in the manifold? It doesn't bother me but just need to know if it's normal. Thanks.

The guy up above said that you better get used to that noise because it is "the nature of the beast"
The sound you're hearing is probably the bypass valve. It makes a whistling sound when opening and closing.
If it were a vacuum leak wouldn't he be hearing the sound constantly?

I have a R motor and I think that noise is made by all R's. Its comes from the throttle body around 3000rpms and lasts only for 500rpms. Every R ive been in does it. Its perfectly fine.

Nope, Ive had a vacuum leak that only hissed at partial throttle and when turning the car off. Strange huh! The bypass valve will make a small squeak, but it isnt THAT audible, IMO.
