strange problem with Greddy boost gauge, needle stuck on high side
what's up guys? I was just installing my Greddy boosy gauge and it worked a few times just fine, and i was fiddling with the wires while it had power and the needle went straight to the other side.. and now when it's powered off it stays on the highest side, and is apparently stuck there.. when I power it on normally with the sensor on, and when it sees vacuum or boost it hits the peg that keeps it from doing circles.. look at the picture you'll see what I mean.. Is there a way to calibrate this thing or something?? I've tried everything I can think of

ouch, did you happen to cross polarities? I'm not certain but greddy may warranty it, it won't hurt to try.

well, see this is what happened.. my power harness was hooked up, and one of the red wires on the sensor harness broke, and the gauge went crazy.. so now if i hook it back up the needle hits the peg when it sees vacuum or boost

this is why you never should have power on when you fiddle with wires...
I'm going to say greddy wont warranty it, but sure ask them, however dont be disappointed when they say no.

fixed it by disassembling it and removed the peg the needle sits on.. I get 0 psi before cracking and ~550 mmHg at idle

I had a similar issue with my Greddy boost gauge.
If I just got in the car and cranked it over, the boost gauge would fly up and pin itself in that position. It would stay there until I hit boost and then would be fine.
If I got in the car, turned on the ignition and waited like 5 or 10 seconds before actually cranking, it would usually be fine.
Finally, I just wired it so that once the ignition was on, it got constant power... even while cranking. That solved my problem completely.
You might have buggered the thing by shorting it out though...
