straight exhaust piping on turbo application
hi HT
i have a 88 rex with d16z6 custom made turbo, i have 60mm exhaust custom made too, i;m preparing my car for racing events and just wondering if custom made a straight exhaust with 70mm would be better for my setup or not.
and if not, what is my options?! everything will be custom made by me cuz i dont live in USA and CRX parts is impossible to get here thanks

Re: straight exhaust piping on turbo application
I run a straight 3in pipe alonlong with a long magnaflow resonator and one mandrel 90* bend so it dumps by the rear tire. imo it the best budget setup, I have less than $300 in my 3in downpipe/exhaust. It's not as load as mught think eiter. I hear stock exhausts with loud/ugly mufflers that make more noise than me.

I see, there is a user called bosniacrx on ek9.org he has a crx and has a center exit exhaust in 70mm, might be a good idea to ask him, theoretically yes you should have more power as it has less restriction but i don't know about real world use.

As i stated, 60mm is on the small side for a turbo motor. How much power are you planning for?

not more than 200HP with vitara pistons, i'm going obd1 so i can get a chipped PO8 ecu and better tune, i'm running my car for 4 YEARS on stock ecu and stock injectors, its a miracle

60mm is can support 200hp, you may see a small gain with 70mm though. Why such a low hp goal?
